December 2016 Lifestyle Letter

December: it’s amazing how a month that is usually so cold can conjure up such feelings of warmth. The smell of pine that hits you the day after you put up your tree is one of my favorite things, along with putting the kids on my shoulders to put the star on the tip-top. A month to celebrate memories that have been made and those being made. Annual traditions among family (the 6 hour marathon game of Risk was always a favorite of mine) and friends are part of what makes this so special. December revolves around the idea of giving the best of what you have, be that time, food, gifts or money, and with so many amazing people in our lives and worthwhile causes to donate to, I wish I had more days spent in the December mindset of give first, ask questions later. I implore everyone reading to take time this month to appreciate the people who make your life, and the lives of others, better. Those who are selfless and who live in the December state of mind, no matter how cold it is outside, are a constant source of warmth and comfort to those around them.
