Girl's Night Out

Marie Dalis-Brown, Market Director of Sales at Aloft and AC Marriott, Shares Her Secrets to a Girl’s Night Out

Since moving to Asheville five months ago, I have been asked repeatedly: “How do you like your beer?” Foolish me, I thought there were only a few beer options, and they were called Bud Light, or if I was watching carbs, Michelob Ultra. Boy, was I beer-wrong, and Asheville taught me the most about the best beer. I have also found that Asheville is much more than a beer drinking town, it’s a fantastic community with a lively nightlife scene that my friends and I love exploring. Here are some of my favorite bars in the area that are perfect for your next Girl’s Night Out!

Wxyz Lounge: Although I might be biased about the Wxyz Lounge at Aloft Asheville Downtown, the facts remain that the bartenders are educated about their beer and take it seriously. Superior bartending coupled with excellent service make for a memorable experience in a perfect location.

The Orange Peel: If you’re looking for a fantastic music scene in Asheville, the Orange Peel is the place to go. It hits the top of our list of must-visit places. This place is great for its music, cold beverages and lively atmosphere. Getting the girls together for a night out always has the Orange Peel involved.

• Sovereign Remedies: As our newest hotel venture, the AC Hotel, is completed, Sovereign Remedies is our go-to spot after work for a cocktail to help wind down with one of the best Negronis in town. Sovereign Remedies is hands-down a favorite.

• The Imperial Life: Since this bar was the first bar in Asheville I visited, it has a very special place in my heart. The glassware is perfection and the bartenders are skilled craftsmen. I keep returning for a classic martini.

• Post 70 Indulgence Bar: On the east side of town at 5 pm, Filo turns into Post 70. Whenever we are in need of chocolate and wine (at least once a week), we head to Post 70. With a fantastic list of wines and a chocolate mousse bomb, it was love at first bite.
