Flat Rock Playhouse Summer Shows

The Flat Rock Playhouse’s summer shows promise laughs, mystery, and more for theater-goers of all ages. Clue: The Musical offers a new take on the popular board game, bringing the world’s best-known suspects to life and inviting the audience to help solve the mystery: who killed Mr. Boddy, in what room and with what weapon (May 25–June 9, Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage). If you’re looking for laughs, in The Love List, a side-splitting and thought-provoking new comedy, Leon and Bill concoct a list of attributes of the ideal woman. When this allegedly “Ideal Woman” actually arrives on the scene, the men quickly learn that their list could use a few revisions (June 14–30, Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage). For kids, there’s Disney’s Aladdin, Jr. (June 21–July 15, Playhouse Downtown), and music-lovers can check out Carolina Shag, part of the Music on the Rock Series (May 31–June 10, Playhouse Downtown).

Sierra Nevada Tailgate Market

Sierra Nevada hosts a weekly gathering of local and sustainable farmers, merchants, and artists that provide fresh produce and goods to the Fletcher/Mills River community. Through the market, the brewery brings their commitment of buying local to life in an accessible and convenient environment for local imbibers. Sample an heirloom tomato grown by Mills River’s Paul Shoemaker of Holly Springs Farm, or join the chefs from the Taproom as they share how to transform local veggies and fruits into a delicious dinner. The Sierra Nevada Tailgate Market brings neighbors together to support and celebrate the rich farming traditions of our community. Remember to bring your reusable bag for shopping at the market, which will take place on Tuesdays through October from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

ASAP will celebrate the tour’s 10th anniversary with contests, giveaways, and a special celebration of the Farm Tour at Asheville City Market on June 2.
