Game On 2

Have Some Outdoor Fun this Summer with Lawn Games Perfect for any Get-Together, then Cool Off with a Couple Sweet Treats.

Bust out those athletic shoes, scorecards and, perhaps most importantly, winning attitudes. Whether you’re at the park or in your own backyard, these family-friendly lawn games are perfect if you’re looking to put a twist on the average summer cookout and get everyone in the competitive spirit. Whether you play for money or bragging rights,  these activities are sure to get the party started — and keep it going! Friendly disclaimer: We can’t be held responsible for any sore losers or bruised egos.

Once you’ve bowled a 300 or screamed “Yahtzee!” from the rooftops, help your guests cool off—both from the heat and some intense competition. Lemonade, the resident summer drink cooler, is even better in frozen form. Try this tart, creamy concoction combined with Jell-O—the food that makes anything a little bit more fun—and hit it out of the park with these after-party treats.

Pro tip: Punch the popsicle stick through a cupcake liner to catch those messy drips!

Frozen Lemonade Ice Pops with Jell-O

What you need

Popsicle molds

Popsicle sticks

Jell-O (we recommend berry blue and watermelon)

4 cups cold water

1 cup Country Time lemonade drink mix

1 tub (12 ounces) Cool Whip, thawed

1 tablespoon lemon zest

What you do

1. Prepare the Jell-O as directed on the box. Pour into dishes so about 1 inch thick and refrigerate until set.

2. Blend water, lemonade mix, Cool Whip and lemon zest until smooth.

3. When Jell-O is set, remove from dishes and slice into small cubes (they’ll need to fit in the popsicle molds).

4. Fill the popsicle molds about halfway with Jell-O cubes, then fill the remaining space with the blended lemonade mixture.

5. Add popsicle sticks if needed and freeze overnight.

Frozen Fruit Pops

To make these frozen fruit pops, blend your fruit of choice (we recommend honeydew, pineapple, dragonfruit or nectarines) with water until smooth. Add water as needed for a thinner consistency. Once blended, pour the first fruit layer to fill 1/3 of the popsicle mold, then freeze to set (about 20 minutes). Once the first layer is set, pour the second fruit layer to fill 1/3 of the popsicle mold, and repeat until full. Freeze overnight and enjoy!
