WCU's Annual Mountain Heritage Day celebrated the traditions of the mountains with mountain music, clogging, storytelling, living-history demonstrations like blacksmithing and banjo-making, Cherokee cultural activities like popular stickball games and fun competitions like chainsaw contests.

Brewgrass Festival 2016 culminated twenty years of celebrating great craft beer from local, regional and national breweries as well as amazing bluegrass music. Each year, the festival is proud to donate a portion of proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina.
